Algebra I-Part 2
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra I-Part 1
Length of course: one semester
Number of credits: ½ Math credit
Course description: This course generally covers the same topics as the second semester of Algebra I, including the study of properties of the real number system and operations, evaluating rational algebraic expressions, solving and graphing first degree equations and inequalities, translating word problems into equations, operations with and factoring of polynomials, and solving simple quadratics.

Business Math-Algebra I level
Prerequisite: Algebra I
Length of course: one semester
Number of credits: 1 Math credit
Course description: Business Math-Algebra I level applies algebra concepts to a variety of business and financial situation. Applications include insurance, credit, banking, stocks and bonds, trusts and estates, finance and taxation.

Geometry
Prerequisite: Algebra I
Length of course: one semester
Number of credits: 1 Math credit
Course description: This class is the study of two and three-dimensional objects from a synthetic, coordinate, and transformational approach. This class reinforces and extends knowledge of algebra and develops an understanding of proof by utilizing interactive computer technology. Real world applications are provided throughout.

Algebra II
Prerequisite: Algebra I
Length of course: one semester
Number of credits: 1 Math credit
Course description: Algebra II students will explore linear, quadratic, cubic, and higher order equations. Other topics will include linear systems, inequalities, complex numbers, and graphing. Students will learn about radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions. In addition, this course will discuss rational equations, conic sections, sequences and series, and probability.

Pre-Algebra
Prerequisite: None
Length of course: one semester
Number of credits: 1 Elective credit
Course description: This course prepares for Algebra I. It continues to reinforce concepts and computational skills with whole numbers, rational and irrational numbers, addition and multiplication properties, decimals, functions, percentages, rations and proportions. In addition it introduces number expression, variables, variable equations, coordinate planes, graphing, and elementary algebra usage. (This course may only be used as a math credit if noted on the students Next Step Plan upon entrance into High School.)
